Honor play:The Honor Play has a large screen (with a notch that can be turned off in the settings menu), is made of a strong and durable metal and comes with a clear case in the box. Extremely quick, it will handle your day-to-day phone use smoothly. The camera is also very good, the AI assist means that you can snap some excellent pictures. The phone is also more durable than you'd think (there's a youtube video showing it has some waterproofing and can handle some real abuse). The battery is great. I find that after a day of listening to music and watching youtube videos non-stop the phone is still above 30% battery life.

If I had a complaint, it would be that it has a single mono speaker, but this is becoming more common. It is fine for youtube, etc. (and loud enough), but if you are someone who usually listens to music from their phone, you might want a bluetooth speaker (or a speaker for the 3.5 jack).

It comes pre-bundled with the usual Huawei junk (games you'll never play, apps you'll never use etc.) but after 15 minutes I'd uninstalled most of these and turned off the notifications. Huawei's EMUI is perfectly serviceable and comes with some features, like a phone manager, that are actually useful.

Highly recommended. The 8X is also available: it is a larger phone (somehow!) and a little slower, but for most will be sufficient.
